FI, which is better - turbos or blowers
I had a debate with a friend who swears turbos are better for the motor, and I think blowers are. But you guys are the experts, so what do y'all think?
What are the pros and cons of each and which would you do if you had the $$?

Take a look in the Forced Induction Forum, there was a question similiar to this posted in there by Vince (Da Truth).
But, as far as "being better for the motor"...that is all in the tuning. Neither one is better or worse for the engine. If you don't tune it correctly then it goes "pop".
Personally I like turbos better because of the higher efficiency that they run at when compared to a super charger. And, if you are talking about small displacement applications I definately like the idea of a turbo since you aren't getting the parasitic loss from the supercharger.
One nice thing about blowers is the instant response you see when you tip into the throttle. There is going to be some degree of lag associated with a turbo charger, but if you drive it right that should be a mute point in most cases.

turbo's or superchargers....well, the turbo takes energy essentially wasted (exhaust) and puts it to good use, the supercharger uses power to make power....the turbo also takes a little longer to kick in than a supercharger does...turbo you can select boost settings by simply turning a knob, instead of having to turn wrenches and change a pulley out, so which do i think is better?...NAAWWZZZ

Turbocharging is just another form of supercharging. IMO it all depends on the application. This is a good article on both.

Technically turbo's are better than superchargers because as was alluded to before, Superchargers require more HP to drive than Turbo's. Since the turbo is more efficient, it is easier on the motor, and thus better.
Also, Superchargers put a great deal of load on the nose of the crank, some guys break them in high HP applications, but many more wear the front crank bearing rapidly. Another vote for turbo's.

easier to install
less heat
broader power band

much quiter
