yeah I meant in the 12's, not honda's in general. By the way, past 3 cars...have been hondas.

sorry for being off topic.

That would be interesting seeing a bunch of 12 sec. skittle's on a autocross track. Like one of the M&M mini commercials....hahaha

Is getting into the 12s really that big a deal? I don't ask to flame, but there are tons of 4 cylinders running around in the 12s. I am not trying to be an ass or flame this thread, just can't believe it's still going. Is being in the 12s considered fast for a street car? If so, my car is close to fast...good times!

try to follow along people

the srt-4 is a restricted car, from the factory the turbo and exhaust manifold are combined into one unit, so you cant just swap out turbos like other turbo cars

with the stock turbo its hard to get really impressive numbers out of the car, but since its not easy to put a new turbo on the car most of the faster srt-4's are sittin at the max their turbo can spit out.

BUT...still following along?...THIS GUY put a new turbo on the SRT-4 with isnt normal and ran quicker times than the other srt-4's... hence the post...Seen the 12 sec Skittle yet?... a quicker than normal srt-4...it doesnt say, "hey compare this 12 second neon and how much money he spent to everything else" the impressive part isnt that a car got into the 12s, its that a car that usually doesnt make it that fast made it

(ok im done venting, everytime i check this post again i get more mad)

I quite honestly dont give a fuck. People rice their shit out and call it a show car....good for them.
People put go fast parts in thier car and others say but its still __________

WRX: I happen to think 12's is very nice for a Daily Driven car....how often do you hit peak HP in your car?

Every time I swing past 5700RPM in 4th. Seriously though, probably not often enough. With traffic, lights, a stock clutch and trans, it's hard to really beat on the car. I love first gear now, you really feel the boost come on and it pulls nicely to red line. With a proper driver, a proper launch and a good run, the car might be a 12 second car. I'm not too far short of 99Venom's old 300whp number and he ran a 12.33, BUT he's a lunatic-full-throttle-rev-limit launcher. I'm way too much of a puss to get close to that number. One of the reasons I haven't bothered tracking the car really...it would just be embarassing, especially since quite a few of the local Scooby people know how much power my car makes. I plan to auto-x occasionally, but will likely get handed my ass because of all the boost lag...it would still be more fun than dragging the car though.

Like I said, wasn't flaming the thread, just haven't ever thought of my car as "fast" because I've seen many Scoobs that are faster to significantly faster. I like to think of my car as nicely balanced between straightline speed and twisty road agility. With the proper camber adjustments and tire pressures, I'm pretty sure she would pull 1.0g laterally and she should be good for at least 100-105mph through the quarter with my punk ass behind the wheel. That's why I've done what I have done to the car so far. Plus, I just love having new shit go into the car every once in a while. It's fun.

BaggedGalant - Relax brotha, you'll live longer. I was aware of the SRT-4's manifold/turbo setup. It's only a matter of fabrication and $$$ to make bolt-on kits. Whether or not these kits are as yet available never entered my mind, as I do not own the car nor do I intend to buy one. Just wondering why a thread about a 12s skittle had gotten so long. It's a skittle, it runs 12s. Good times.
