Race discussion broken off from small block thread.
Scott, just let us know when you get the rules all ironed out and when and where the race is going to take place. We have plenty of horses in the stable chomping at the bit to do a little more heads-up racing.
Just remember, too many rules usually scares people. Do yourself a favor and keep everything as simple as possible. It usually works out better in the long run.

Ya how much are you willing to bet, because I "bet" you don't .I had a 76mm midframe on a 306ci not at its full potential and I ran a 5.82,remember 2ci is not alot/

For sure on the rules, this is yet another reason for doing this. Every time I see someone post a new race series like you did on N2S for Immoklee to many reply with, "to many rules". What I am working on is going to be aimed at people that want to go racing but do not necessarily want or can race all the time and do not have dedicated cars, tow rigs, etc..
I would really like to do some lbs. per cubic inch racing but I think that would either scare alot off or confuse to many even though it is quite simple. It would even the field for people like me hauling 10+ lbs per inch down the track.
Simplicity will be key.
So you think there are a lot of cars racing this class with under 350ci ? Because my understanding is most are bigger motors.
I just cant see driving 4 hours (or more depending on where you live, and how fast you can trailer your rig) each way all the way down to Immokalee and back.
If I'm driving a distance - it'll be to Bradenton for a 1/4 mile TNT or Event. I think many of us on this board would prefer a 1/4 mile, and the closer distance of travel by going to BMP.
Oh, and back on topic... Small Blocks FTW

Have you ever been to Immokalee? Top notch traction and top notch owner and staff. They go waaaaaay out of their way to keep the racers happy.
We live in Zephyrhills and make it down there in 3 hours, 2.5 hours back (night traffic).

Well back in the day (1970) Desoto, Sunshine, Twin City (Oldsmar) and as I recall Tampa Dragway all got together and formed a "big dog, little dog " series. The little dogs were limited to 355 cubic inch and as I recall all Fords/Mopars/Chevies ran the same weight break. the "bog dogs pretty much was run what you brung, but (again, as I recall) you had a different break for the Hemis. The big dog class was pretty much all pro stock cars (back when they were a little more stock). In any case they ran both classes and at the end of the night it was little dog vs big dog based on the fastest ET ran during eliminations. The eliminations were all heads up)Again, as I recall the big and little dog winners got $500. the top dog, the winner of the overall got another $500. this was very popular, it was like a mini racing series in Tampa Bay and was highly attended by specatators, it was also highly promoted.
If it were ME, and I was doing it today,I'd make everyone run a clutch 4 speed and an HEI for an ignition, no other electronics allowed. I'd also run it as a single 4bbl class.
