fox conv doors vs cp/hb doors
Im looking for a set of doors for my 88 t-top. HO fibertrends makes a set of fiberglass doors for cp/hb, and i need the convertible ones (same as t-top). The tech there was telling me that convertible doors are simply cp/hb doors that the factory literally sawed off the window frame. Anybody know anything about that???
I really need some doors so i can get this thing painted and properly weatherstripped.

Tis true my fellow Dave. If you look at your T-top doors, you'll see a little slip on cap that covers the window frame at the front and rear. You should be able to pull those off and silicone them to the fiberglass doors after you saw the frame off. I figured this out when I had an 86 Capri T-top car I was going to build up. I THINK the window glass is the same (it just seals to a different weatherstrip along the roof) and the mechanicals are the same, so you should be good with the glass doors.
Oh, the mirrors are different too, but you can get those sorted out after the paint is done.

The mirrors may or may not be different. Ford started putting different mirrors on the convertables in 90 or 91. Prior to that the coupes, hatchbacks, and convertables all shared the same mirrors...so he shouldn't have a problem. Never did like the newer Fox convertable mirrors, they really don't flow well with the car.
