Cam for 5.0
what is the most lift stock valve springs would work well with? and what would be the best cam for a fairly stock setup?
also, how labor intensive would the cam installation be? you dont need to pull out the motor to get to it do ya?
anyway .. any help would be appreciated as usual

I have two sets of springs that I would be able to sell ya if your's aren't up to snuff or are a little weak. One set is good up to .550 the other up to .600...
let me know.

I havent read anything on TFS cams, my freind got one and put it in his bone stock motor and loves it so i thought i would throw it out there, stock cam isnt all that bad itself. Also you might wanna look into a custom cam.

Whats the point in putting a performance cam in a stock setup?
Especially when you have stock 100K mile valve springs...
Save your money and do the intake, cam, then heads... in that order.
Cam on that stock engine could even make you lose power.

well the reason i even consider it is because some1 is selling a f303 in the for sale section for i think 100 bucks, and im going to have intake and heads sometime within probably 6 months at the most, so i figured id get that done now.

There is always someone selling this FMS cam or that FMS cam for $100.00. What you need to do is save money to get heads. Then once you get the heads you wanted. See what the max lift on the valve springs are that come with them. Also see what kind of rockers you need to buy. The only difference you will see with a throwing an aftermarket cam in a stock setup is that you will have a lopey idle. If you put a high lift cam in there with the stock valve springs you could possible bind the stock spring up and grind down the spring seat pretty good. Don't waste money on that. The stock cam isn't that bad at all. If you just get a set of heads you would be happy, then save for that 100 bux for a decent cam.
