Default 03 Cobra and traction control

How does the traction control affect the cars performance? I finally got a test drive in one, but forgot to turn it off. I expected a lot more low end grunt than the car seemed to have. I wasn't sure if the traction control cut the power significantly.

I noticed a huge difference in mine and it's only a Mach 1. When I bang 2nd gear it feels like the engine shuts off for a second and I lurched forward. I'd say with that much torque it will definately affect it.

I ran a 12.9 with traction control on.. lol.. Though, if you happen to chirp 2nd or 3rd, the car will fall on it's face.. And if you break them loose at the upper end of 1st or 2nd gear it will also wreak you havok.

Anyway, traction control just killed my back rotors and pads.. lol.. It is permanently off now.

Also, the car will not seem fast until you get into the boost. There is probably a 250hp difference between 3/4 throttle and full throttle.

I was WOT on interstate. It just felt "off". I wondered aloud if the car had some sort of valet switch or something. After the drive, I realized I had forgotten about the traction control. I thought it knocked the timing back or something like that.

I guess it is really relative. It was a fast car, no doubt. I just expected more umph.

That sucks the traction control ate your brakes.

The car only had 20 miles on it. I know the cars are fast. There are too many people running 11's in them. I can't wait to run across one in my 94 and see what it will do.

I thought about bringing the car to the track, but I don't have drag radials. After reading about people complaining about street tires at the strip, I hate to be the guy tearing up the track. Plus it would be the first time I've run the car, or a car. Not much of a drag racer. I guess I need to learn at some point, but I really didn't want to put on a bad driver clinic.
