Smoke and mirrors. Catbacks are just for sound. Power gain is minimal. Not worth the price. U won't get 10-15rwhp. All I've seen and heard is around 5rwhp from catbacks. Save your money and mod something else. -Mark

marks on the mark....

I'd always heard that you lost hp due to side exhaust..

Anyhow... the only thing I can offer up is that from my little exploration here a month ago looking for the right exhaust for mine is that gains will indeed be minimum... the thing you really have to watch out for though is to make sure you match up your x/h pipe with the right exhaust. I heard plenty of times that the combo was hpipe w/ offset mufflers and xpipe with straight thru mufflers. Reason being is that say if you go offset with an xpipe you might be losing any of the scavenging of hp that you gained with the xpipe.

Just my .02... take it for what it is worth (probably about 2 cents )

I never really believed that about side exhaust. Rear exhaust has lots of turns and kinks as well.

yeah but the side exhaust is very restrictive. The mufflers are "U" shaped inside, and then take another sharp "U" just outside the muffler. Not to mention ground clearance can't be pretty. They do look good on the SN95's though.
