Alrighty... Let's find out how many stangers on this site.... Nice to be able to relate to domestics around here... Tired of the rice... Can I get a head count puh-wease..... I go tmy lil '93 2.3L Hatch.. but got a 302 sitting in the garage to be rebuilt... Since I know have nothing to pay for the Z28 that got wrecked.... Anybody got any suggestions for that as well?? Come on.. I know more stangs are out there somewhere

hahaha cute... .well they told me it was prolly gonna be totalled but the engine is fine soo i was gonna buy it back and build it up if it was totalled but today we got the estimate and it's only 6500 to fix everything and some other stuff I'm paying for outta my pocket just soo it gets fixed(things that were wrong before), but none the less the insurance is paying for it now since it's not totalled cute stangerang....... soo i take it you got an escort too?

no the Z is my older brother's.. I was driving in and had a freak accident.. The Stang is mine.. I'm fixing it up.. It's a project car to be exact.... understand now?

haha yea... needless to say accident wasn't my fault but am taking responsibility for it because I WAS driving.... soo... none the less I'm gonna pay about 600 outta my pocket for some stuff that insurance can't cover but no biggy there for me.... But was curious if anybody had any suggestions for the stang and everything

 

well to drop the 302 in it, you going to need a new tranny, all the wiring and or computer system, an 8.8 rear end, and new exhaust and suspension...... it is a big project, if the car is going to be a daily driver i'd say sell it and buy one with a 5.0 in it already, if it is going to be a weekend or track car then the motor swap might be worth it.....


but i wouldn't waste the time or money dropping a stock 302 in a 4 banger.... it wouldn't be worth it......



i'm not 100% sure on this but i'd say about 2-3k in parts alone to do the swap right..... it really depends what parts you use, new used, stock, aftermarket.....


remeber you can pick up 5.0 stangs for like 2-3k in good condition.... all day long !

 

yea that's why I was asking for advice.. I mean.. I've been looking.. my car has been wrecked by my other brother and I just wanted to look for a decent 5.0 body and then build the car up ya know....
