Sunshine Speedway is DONE :(

There was an article in Sunday's St Pete Times about how they are re-doing I275 in Pinellas. There was a huge picture of Sunshine Speedway saying that part of I275 will be cutting right thru it

I know its been rumoured for years, but it looks like Sunshine has finally succomed to "progress"

Hopefully Lakeland will take on the extra cars and finally do something to that shithole since there will NEVER be another new drag strip in the area.

A few weeks ago a little birdie told me that it is a done deal.

No watch how busy BMP gets because I doubt Lakeland will step up to the pump.

You're right Scott, and I should clarify, the ONLY reason why I mentioned that Lakeland should step up is because its closer than BMP for most people, and its 1/8th mile which is better for most of the bracket

I really like going to BMP, its clean and neat now and very professionally run. Its just SO damned FAR away

I assume that means the oval track as well if so that really sucks i i will miss it I used to race on that track a few years back. Alot of history at that track.

The are selling the whole thing. My friend who races mini stock there told me the lady who owns it got 20 million for it. I guess there was alot about it in Sundays St pete times.

BMP isnt that far, Its an hour and a half for me. Sunshine is just a tad bit under that and bigger pain in the ass to get too.

lots of memorys rip for da sunshine track i have been told it wont be torn down until 2 year's or so. neighbors have been complaing about the noise also that track was doomed from day one to be the next track to me is 45 mins away no more wed's night hang out.THEY NEED ANOTHER TRACK AROUND HERE!!!!!!!!
