Ford Performance ‘Cobra Jet’ 5.0 Helps Jim Hellstrom’s Falcon ‘Fly’

“Hello Ford Performance! This is Jim Hellstrom with your M-6007-SCJ16 in my early Falcon. I’m sending along pictures of my completed Cobra Jet Falcon. I've had it entered in several car shows already and at first glance it just looks like a blue Falcon and doesn't draw too much attention . . . until I raise the hood.

 

“When that happens, here they come -- and with tons of questions! Most people can't believe it's only a 302, and they really get a dose of reality when I tell them the horsepower that this engine it makes. As far as ‘driveability’ goes, it's a tame beast until the supercharger fully kicks in at about 3,800 rpm. Then -- OMG, hold on!



“And one more thing: dig the muffler and tailpipe under the rear bumper in the photo. That REALLY has 'em guessin'! Anyway, thanks so much to you, and aaaaaall the help that you provided for the build!”
