Black wheels on a mustang?

Hey everyone, I wanted to get opinions on black wheels on a domestic car (non-rice). I have a 93 bright silver mustang that I'm going to put 17" 99 GT wheels on. The wheels have some minor blemishes that I can polish out and powdercoat over. I really don't want the chrome like silver because I think it would look too weird on a regular silver car. I'm thinking either a semi-gloss or gloss black but would have red calipers all around (Bullitt brakes and rears to match). Would I be considered a ricer for having black wheels?
Once I get the motor back in the car and running I'll get some pics and see if I can photoshop different colors on there, but just wanted to get some opinions before I even consider it.

I like black wheels...but I'm biased.
They would look great against the silver on your car. You may also want to consider an anthricite color. Whatever you go with, make sure it is a satin finish...shiny black wheels look dumb.

With a brush by hand. I used red krylon that I sprayed into the cap and thinned out with acetone.
That was the hardest part, but I love doing that kind of stuff. I am proud of the fact that the lines are perfect concidering that there was no well defined area for the line, just the curve of the lip.
It took me about a day to spray the black, and another day to brush on the red.

ewww please dont do a black wheel
Id say a dark silver or if your stuck on the really dark color, go a gunmetal grey, looks good and more importantly its "JDM"
crap!

The thing I like about my black wheels is with the exception of the red stripe you can't tell when they are covered in brake dust.
All you need to do is wipe the lip and they look as good as new.
Just in case you are curious about how bad they were to begin with, here is a pic of one after I filed and sanded out all the gouges and imperfections.

hmmm, I like the spray paint, that way if they don't turn out right I can just do them a different color. I also like the argent or pewter idea too, not too JDM, but better than the cost of new wheels.
Tony, great work on your wheels, they look great. How is the spray paint holding up on the wheels?
