My tax return came today...so I decided to blow all of it on my car. Next week I will be taking delivery of a pair of Crower Stage 2 cams and Kent adjustable cam gears. In the following months I will pick up another long-tube race header, port the intake manifold, throw on a larger throttle body, 70mm MAF, and a chip. People with a similar setup are putting down around 140fwhp and about the same in torque. Not to shabby considering my car is putting down only 108fwhp stock.

I wanted to go with a ported head, but that is going to have to wait a few years when I can afford the enormous price tag that goes along with getting a properly ported head w/larger valves and whatnot.

I'm in the same boat... I majorly screwed up my withholdings last year by counting them as physical persons (doesn't make much sense to me any other way).. and with the bigger house with MUCH more tax and interest to write off, I ended up overpaying to the tune of $4800 :o

Tho tempting to blow it all (perhaps literally ) on the car, I know I'm going to have some more house expenses down the road and would like to be able to spend a bit more on it instead of the car. Big problem there is that my wife was thinking the same thing.. but decided on the house as well!

So I opted out for just a quarter of it on the car... and if the house stuff goes better than expected.. then perhaps I'll buy a few more things for the car.

Damn I can just see that focus making about 140-150 to the wheels on the motor and then hitting it with a 75 shot with some DR on that B*tch,damn that focus would ride the F*ck out.I wanna see the car when you get it all done

 

I'll let you know what happens after this Sunday. If all goes well, I will have the cams this week and install them this weekend. I'm just crossing my fingers that UPS drops off my goodies before Saturday.
