hesitation and backfire problem

firing order is fine, and the timing is fine. i went to real speed and had the car checked out. we adjusted the tps down a tad and the timing was at 14. right after i drove the car and it ran fine for the most part, it surged once for a second, but it was fine. now the damn car does it about every other time i drive the damn thing. i will just have real speed do their kind of diagnostic check. i just replaced the pcv valve and screen today, didnt help at all. thanks for your help guys, i will ring back in next time i can get down to real speed. again thanks for all your help, especially dr dirt

Since you've had some work done on it, you might try disconnedting the batttery to clear the computer's memory so it can relearn its idle. It will take it a little while to relearn. Theoretically, if you disconnect the battery for 20 mins., that is enough to clear it. I like to leave it off overnight though...that way when I reconnect it at dark thirty the next morning, my alarm goes off and pisses off the neighbors.

I WILL LEAVE THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED FOR A WEEK OR TWO. I HAVE TO SEND IN MY ALETNATOR TO POWERMASTER BECAUSE IT IS DEFECTIVE AND I DISCONNECTED IT UNTIL IT GETS BACK. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

could also be a dirty IAC remove it and clean with carb cleaner.
