A company my dad used to work for moved their plant to Ohio and closed up the plant locally. My father is still good friends with the plant manager and he said they had some equipment for sale and that he would hold some stuff off to
the side for us. We went by today and I got the following:
Lincoln Pro-Cut 40 plasma cutter $200
Lincoln V200 Pro TIG welder with high frequency attachment $200
I got all the manuals for both machines, plus a nice roll around cart made
entirely of stainless with nice swivel locking casters too.
I think I did ok right
I went to the Lincoln site to get info but both model numbers seem to have been
superceded (both machines aren't that old) anyone have any idea on specs and
stuff. What I'm mainly interested in is the thickness of material each of
these can handle.

The model 25 can cut up to 3/8" material, this is model number 40, so it should be good for about 1/2" steel or maybe 1/4" stainless. I'll have to peruse the manuals. Why, do you need something cut?

A guy just told me that a rule of thumb for plasma cutters is 100 amps will cut through 1" steel or stainless (1/2" for aluminum). This machine should be 40 amps based on the model number, so unless you want to build a ship Derek it should do ok
damn.. no ships..
actually I need to replace the blades on a mixer (looks like a cement mixer) that I use for making my bbq salt. They're stainless, and I can use the old ones as templates, but haven't found anyone that I could take it to to get the metal cut.
if you want check out the bbq salt @ www.santamariabbqsalt.net.
I'll be (hopefully) at the Wagon wheel flea market this weekend...
Thanks Dave

Shouldn't have any problem with the stainless. I used to use a "nasty" one when I worked at Alcan Rolled Aluminum in NY.... Matter of fact, if any have noticed the big scar on my left fore arm... that's where it came from.
But those are some damn good prices there Dave!!
