From what I have read it is just a concept, but Ford is interested in making a V8 Ranger to compete with other trucks on the market like the s/c Nissan and the Toyota. It is a basic fit since the Ranger shares alot with the Explorer and it has a V8 in it. Back i nthe early 90's Ford SVT produced around 1200 5.0 Rangers to test if it would sell.

From what I have heard, a couple have already been sold. I saw a TV show where one of the guys who was lucky enough to have Ford sell him one, let the news anchor guy take a drive in it.
