I did not want to post this in the Chevy forum and disrespect Al now that he is maning the boast down there but I had to put this up given our recent debate about GM. Look no mention of any performance cars.

Chevrolet bolsters sagging lineup
New Malibu, sport utility debut, plus midsize truck
By Ed Garsten / The Detroit News
DETROIT -- If Chevrolet was an independent automaker it would be the second largest on the planet, behind only Ford Motor Co.
Its 2002 sales of 2.6 million units accounted for more than half of General Motors Corp.'s sales last year and exceeded the entire sales output of DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group by 200,000 units.
Yet GM's biggest division is growing and shrinking simultaneously, with the car side sinking and the truck side soaring.
Malibu
is considered the most critical in shoring up Chevrolet's eroding role in the passenger car market.
I lost intrest in the Maro/TA in 82 when they went to the dreaded door stop wedge body design and havent liked them since. I like my 97 Tahoe and they even managed to screw that up for me
GM is giving me flash backs of the early 80s, small and slow. I think the GTO is WACK personally, mix between a GP and an Olds. heh speaking of Olds when will they completely stop production?
