Whoze building engines locally?
Leaning toward a 306 as I need a decent gas mileage mustang engine/shortblock that will see lots of miles, with a mild cam and TW170 heads. My rebuilt has 130,000 already on the bottom end,got to start thinking about it.I would do a 331 but I dont think I can squeeze 24mpg on the highway consistantly.Feel free to tell me I'm wrong.I have a QH so tuning will not be an issue.PortedCobra lower 24lb injectors, shorties,Dont need a rocket ship for my uses just stone cold reliability.TIA.
Thanks for the good words!!

Do they do machine work?I would prefer an assembled shortblock, could even live with a stock crank.Havent decided on pistons, probably Probe pistons which means I would need rods(or resize and arp rod bolts) and a balance, which approaches the cost of a cheap stroker kit.I would likely use a stock oilpan and a blueprinted standard oilpump.
We don't do machine work in house.
