at least it's aerodynamics with a purpose... it creates downforce. unlike some of these park benches people drive around with on their rear deck.

 

Just because it's a real Saleen doesn't mean that it's not rice. It's just pre-packaged minute rice from the factory. It's just an opinion, mind you, but I think it's ugly as hell. Like Tony said, it's very rare. As far as cars go, there are only a few things that make them "really rare". 1) they are grossly overpriced and noone can afford them. 2) For any of several reasons, not enough of them could be manufactured to meet the demand. 3) They're butt ugly and hardly anybody that could afford one would be caught dead in one. I prefer to think that in this case it is what's behind door #3. Steve must have had a Honda when he first started driving.

 

I believe the only reason the nose is shaped like that is to aid in areodynamics. That and they can stick some pretty bright headlights behind those covers since lighting is not a positive Mustang trait either.
