i was fortunate enough to see the new Mustang prototype in Las Vegas in October at the Ford dealer convention.

it's gonna look much like the concept photos in the first post, and the hard top will be of the 1968 vintage fastback style. the undercut front will be part of the "retro" styling along with the side scoops.

the chassis is the LS chassis used on the new thunderbird, giving the Mustang a fully independent rear suspension.

the name 5.0 will also be coming back, this time in the form of a quad overhead cam version of a destroke 5.4 triton V8. standard GT horsepower will be in the tune of 300hp. the V6 will be replaced with possibly a 4.0 litre SOHC V6 from the Explorer lineup.

unfortunately, i have no pics... 3 dealers were kicked out for possessing a camera at the convention.

the only thing retro with it is the name... other than that, it's a Holden with a Pontiac facelift

Well it does look better some in the hardtop form.
Its sort of sad Ford just taking good designs from the 60s and putting them on 2005 models, sort of lazy if you ask me, try something new.
