Year, make and model of car and what type of tach are you working with?

Will one of these work?

MSD TACH ADAPTER 1964-1995 | CJ Pony Parts
Auto Meter 9117 Auto Meter Tach Adapter for DIS Ignition Systems
outside of that I would look for the oldest Ford performance dealer int he country and try them, someone like..

MPR: 100 years in the business
I also have some feelers out there, will let you know

MSD - won't work at all. I mean I'm sure it does but 3 shops couldn't get it to work previously.

Auto Meter - requires you to tap into each coil positive and ground, not wanting to go through all that.

Ford Racing - converts the signal from the CPS

There is this one but have not heard anything about it working or not:
Tach Signal GMR Pickup - 8918

Older motor, doesn't work from what I've read on the newer engines.

What I don't want to do.

I'm starting to think it would just be cheaper to pick up a cluster wit ha tach and have the mileage reprogrammed.

You need an Auto Meter 9117 Tach adapter.

It feeds off the common positive wire.

Instructions on Install here

http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInst...5/105-9117.pdf

Here's a video of an install on a 99-04 Mustang with the Coil On Plug system like yours.

Wire you clip here I believe...

Yeah if you use the common wire you get an incorrect reading from everything I have been told..
