^ I have just tried that... it still has a nasty looping idle.. from around 500 to 1200 rpms. even in drive and reverse... wont idle for shit without the IAC plugged in..

Funny.. I fix the CEL and it runs worse?? about to replace the map with the old one and just deal with the random breaking up instead of it pulsing the idle.

I have grown to hate this truck very fast. Go American made... But hey it still runs.. ish..

I am just going to call a scrapper and have them take it away in the next few days. I cannot afford to put anymore money into it.

I don't even have the IAC plugged in in my Escort. Just leave the damn thing unplugged and set the base idle up so you can drive it. Shouldn't stall then. If it does it has other problems

I have tried to set the base idle up.. Truck will not have it..

I put the old map on just to go to work.. Doesnt bounce idle but loves to break up while driving and CEL is back.. Still will randomly shut off sitting in drive at a light.

this is the throttle body I have I do not see a adjust screw anywhere for idle setting..

I may pull the throttle body off tonight and take a look to see if I can see anything on it to tinker with.

I have searched all over the web for it and seems no one is straight forward on how to do so.

Mine sits up and down. like this.. I seen something like that.. But I am pretty sure mine doesn't have a screw in the middle of the one butterfly.. Will have to look closer when I get near it.

No the screw they are showing in this picture I pulled is some service kit screw. I'm talking about the "plate stop screw"

Here's the throttle body from *******

I would bet it has vacuum leaks, but regardless it should still run with the IAC unplugged.

Does not have a screw there.. For real.. just a threaded stud.. not even big enough to grab with pliers.. Lol..

I have checked for vac leaks.. Cant seem to find any I have removed most of the vac lines that are not needed like for the AC and cruise control. and just plugged them off..

Tried spraying carb cleaner around the intake plenum no idle difference..

Funny thing.. Last night I plugged the new map back in.. Ran great... no stalling good pull through gears..

Finally last night the temp gauge actually moved from C.... Get to a friends house.. Steam everywhere. blew a dam hose on from the water pump to the heater core... Ugh..

Truck runs great while over heating... Lol Like a rapped ape..

Now another thing I have noticed about this truck is the oil pressure is really low.. at idle you can see it tick almost to nothing that is when the truck about stalls. even at good running stance the oil pressure is really low like right above low.. Full fresh oil change and it still has low oil pressure

I think the motor is just tired and about done. I am going to finish moving with it. and then beat it to death.

I am over spending money on a 200.00 truck.. I have more money into parts and radio then the truck.. lol.. going to have fun with her then send her to the junkyard in the sky.

Thanks for the info guys.
