just got the car today from 4 years of work from a fire i am not pleased about the car but i guess its a start i have a major probblem i drove it around maybe 10 mins max babying it and it was at 220!!!!!! can some tell me what isthe normal temp for a 302 carb i was thinkin 180-190>? nwayz i have to go to work in an hr i hopeit doesnt climb can anyone tell me a cheap way of fixing my temp probblem ???? i have a small radiator and a regular fan on a clucth

my efi 302 gets up to 200 and i have an electric fan that then comes on and keeps it there, that fan was worth the 150 bucks. but i dunno what the carb motors are supposed to be at.

the hood was all crinkled from a fire it looks much straighter now plus i had a hole there from the stock scoop sooo i traded some headers for the hardwood scoop i think it looks nice 
dustin u sure 220 is normal i cant aford to miss any days of work to motor damage

Both the 302 I had in my 74 and the one that spent a short time in my 73 both ran right around that temp... 'course the 74 rose well over that after about a half hour worth of driving....
