Default Need Supercharger Rebuilt

Anybody have experiencerebuilding superchargers. I have a Vortech V-2 Sq and the Impeller has front toback end play. It has not touched down, it has no side to side play or up anddown play just front to back. I haven’t been able to find much via searchingthe web as to the cause of this problem, but I suspect the high speed bearingis the problem. Vortech wants $400.00 plus freight both ways so I am looking atclose to $500.00 to Replace less than $200.00 in parts (that price includesfull race tapered bearings. Any info would be helpful

The tolerences are so tight because of the rpm's the turn, its worth it to bite the bullet and send it back to Vortech. Maybe the "know it all" will chime in.....

He takes pretty much everything else apart and has 200 pieces on a table at a time, I think he can handle it but I think Rob and Joe just send stuff to Vortech for rebuilds cause their a dealer, I could be wrong though?

I would think any of the turbo rebuild shops could tackle that project as they have the equipment to do so, whether they will take it on or not is more of the question.

Send it to Vortech and inquire about their upgrade. If your housing is the right one, I believe they offer a rebuild/upgrade and the rebuild was needed anyway so it's kinda like a free upgrade. I also believe that they warranty it. A lot better than paying someone for just a repair...and it's the manufacturer.

Call and see, it can't hurt.

Upgrading to an Si Trim isn't free, you'll pay additional for the impeller!
