Probably going to need to stick with a dealership for financing....but I do have some rather interesting ideas floating around in my head

As for financing you don't need to stick with a dealer. In fact you will likely get a better rate getting pre-approved yourself through a bank or credit union. Plus it gives you major bargining power with a dealer or individual seller when there is a check at the bank that can have their name on it the next day. Good time to get financed, banks are hurting and the rates are as low as your going to see them.
With the car prior to this I did just that. Got a approval # from the bank with a window of what I could spend, I think it was like $15-18k and I went out shopping. Once I found what I wanted and worked out a deal at a lot I I gave them the info and I was done and out the door in less then a hour.
Well unfortunately my credit sucks from past slow pays, etc.... that's why I'll end up with a dealer and probably a secondary lender
Yeah Carmax was going to transfer a 2001 red / tan cobra with 17K miles on it from Texas for around $23K, sharp car, but the buyer for mine backed out so I had to wait on it.....probably gone by now. That's OK I'm still debating a few options...the cobra is still number one on my list, but I'm trying to research various power adder combo's and which car is going to give me everything I want in a package that I like...
Turbo's / blower's, which year do I want, what color, I've got all kinds of things flying through my head....
A lot of it will break down to what I can find in good condition, then I'll go from there... Hopefully I can just finance something with a couple grand, and have the rest to go ahead and go wild on whatever I pick up....Goal is to have something done by beginning of February for the BADRAP vs. SFFBA track day...
We'll see....need to sell this one first.

Well it looks like I'm going to stick with a fox body, but probably switch to a 5-speed LX. SO, if anyone is interested in the car back to stock...it will still include:
Cervini's Hood
Cobra rear bumper
Flowmaster exhaust
5-lug conversion
BBK Shorties
New 130 amp Alternator
32K on rebuilt motor / Tranny
Kenwood Excelon CD Player...
3.73's with fresh trak-lok
3000 stall available.....
Welds / Nittos (or could sell without)
$6000 OBO

We'll see what happens, it's an option, but I figure I have about 10K in it total..... If I can sell the car for around 6, and transfer over some of the parts (blower / control arms / gt-40, etc....) then I would still be in good shape.
I still have the heads for it as well
