How much better than stock depends on the rest of the combo but if you are looking at new "P" heads, I would instead looking at used aluminum heads (should be close in price) and don't forget the "P" heads require a specific header due to their altered plug location.

Hmm i didnt know about that different headers, which heads would be good and give nice hp and tq gains for around 500?
and im planing on using a stock bottom end with maybe a different crank and i might stroke it but i doubt it.

Talk to Joe @ Fordspeed.com, he's got a set of P heads for sale. In the Street Warrior class in Fun Ford he has run as fast as 11.79 with a 302 and these heads, made just over 300 to the rear wheels with these heads.
