Default Ok.. need opinions on new car choice..

as soon as i can get rid of the WRX..

If i stick with my current bank .. it needs to be a 98+ car .. less than $30K .. and i'd like something pretty quick.. and handles nicely.. like road course type handling.. prepared to look at something modified..

example.. saw a beautiful 1998 Lingenfelter Z28 with 10K miles for $21500 .. was perfect.. 415 HP and 385 Ft/lb.. exactly what I am after..

second option is dump my current bank and find one that will lend for a cheaper car and keep my original plan of getting something cheap for a while till i build the imprezza of my dreams.

advice?.. new bank ?.. keep bank and get what?

How about a GTI? They handle like a champ, come with a pretty decent stock power output and look really good

i like the sound of the lingefelter, those are some serious cars... i doubt you'd be dissapointed with that car, especially for 21K

A nice clean Fox body Mustang (1990-1993).

Proven and very durable powerplant, suspension, etc.. Parts are cheap and plentiful. The newer ones have to many durability issue for me so far.

Insurance will be far less than a newer Mustang.

You can make them handle like a mofo too.

both very good ideas..

problem is..i dont wanna have to do much to it off the bat when i get it.. it must be 1998+ (Credit Unions Rules) and the price I pay for it has to be close to what they consider book value.. so i cant say.. oh.. grab a 98 Cobra for 15K and put 10Ks worth of stuff on it.. cos the car isnt worth 25K.. its still only worth 15-17K. (thats an example..i dont know what a 98 Cobra is worth).

damn them and their rules...
