Default NON-FORD tuner issues'

I picked up a SCT handheld tuner friday night for my '98 RAM Sport. For some reason when I hooked it up and programmed the truck for the 93 tune, none of my gauges' work. But when I return it to the stock setting, they all work.

I had my laptop with tune's on it from HemiFEVER since the s/c went on. I sat there and cleared all existing tune's from the laptop off the ecu before hooking the SCT flasher up.

Any idea's on this? What can cause this? Any fix?

I've seen some that were partially locked where it would pull codes and program the stock tune that it saved back to pretty much any of that make of vehicle. Depends on the SCT programmer he's using on what it does if it's VIN locked.

It is a used one but I watched him unlock it from his VIN in the parking lot.

If it's been used to a VIN it "marries" that VIN. No matter what you do, you can't unlock it unless you call SCT and get a new license for it. It's not expensive but I would bet that's what the problem is.
