Default 97 Mustang GT

my beater car needs front control arm bushings. What year control arms are interchangeable. Meaning, I want to go pull a set from the salvage yard and have a set in hand. Are the V-6 and GT's the same also? Thanks

I have seen guys put 04 cobra control arms on the 94-95s.... That would lead me to believe that 94-04 should all be the same.... V6/GT/Cobra all same front parts minus brakes....What happend on the truck/suv deal? Never heard back from yah...

79 - 04 all interchange,.. but you have 3 different lengths.

79 - 93 Fox length,.. and not 100% on the 79 - 84 cars being a different length from the 85 - 93. I know the 85 - 93 are the same. 79 - 84 had a narrower k-member and not sure if the a-arms are different.
94 - 98 SN95 length. Here you have a few differences. The 94 - 98 V6 and GT's are the same. Then the 96 - 98 Cobra's are the same with the exception of the ball joint. The ball joint angles allow for a tighter turning radius.
Then the 99 - 04 cars have a wider stance all together.

Mechanically they all interchange to each others k-members.

Despite the different sheet metal,.. 94 - 04 cars are still a fox body underneath.

I don't think 94-04 are any different wider/narrower. Alot of 94-95 guys put the 04 cobra a-arms on because the bushing design is different and it allows tighter turning radius. The "wider stance" 99-04 isn't because the arms are different. It is because the brakes were redesigned (dual piston/aluminum) and for that reason the spindle's are different.

This may shed some light on it as well....
Ford Mustang OEM Front Control Arms, 1994-2004

Actual product may differ from photo.
$339.00
Part # M-3075-D
Manufacturer: Ford
Add to Cart:

This kit upgrades the front lower control arms on 1994-04 Mustangs.
Original equipment on the 2003-04 Cobra
Inner bushings are the latest Hydrabushing design, and are stiffer than in earlier years.
Features the latest generation of Ford's low-friction ball joint, providing improved handling and ride quality because friction is reduced, compared to previous generation control arms.
The steel stamping is revised for greater tire clearance. This allows the installation of wider wheels and larger tires, and also increases the steering angle limit, for a reduction in turning radius on 1994-98 Mustangs.
