The fun never stops with the Focus
Last night I launched the car from a dead stop to race Leonard. HAHA...he beat me quater throttle against my Focus doing all she could. Anyways...the car is slipping like it always use to, but this time the tires aren't losing traction. The familiar smell of burnt clutch enters the car, and Joe catches a whiff of my Focus fart behind me as well. This is the 2nd time this has happened, the first time being at an auto-x over in Palm Bay. So...looks like the Focus is needing a new clutch. It kind of pisses me off, particularly since the car has only 41k miles on it and I really haven't been abusive to that clutch since I first got the car. I'll see what happens at track day...but chances are I have to sink $1000+ for stock replacement clutch, lightened flywheel, and installation.
