I order'd mine yesterday.... I don't think its going to be all that tough. As long as you have basic understanding on how the ECM works.

I ran one for a while on my 331 turbo notch and it was great. There's a bit of a learning curve if you don't know how efi and the computer works but it's not bad. Plus there are great sites out there with a lot of help...like eectuning.org. If you get one, definitely get the Binary Editor and EEC Analyzer by Clint Garrity (the absolute best software out there). He's on eectuning.org by the way.

I will be using the QH on my 2.3t '86 Coupe when it's finished.

Think I will initiate it into my A9P/ 5speed swap /TW 170 306. I expect to build a 347 early next year and I will spend the rest of this year learning tuning.Looks to be a great way to get started.Infinite amount of tweaks available.

Yeah, and you'll want to get a wide band so you can know what's going on. Probably the best place for information and help is EECTuning.org • Index page. Lots of knowledgable people there.

how much is the moates? also i dont know much about the moates is it a chip you have a shop burn a tune? or is it a stand alone.

im asking cause my buddy had some chip with a tune and he spent around 700 for the chip and the tune.i told him he would have been better off with a anderson pms.every time he does something new to the car he has to pay for another tuune which is stupid

It piggybacks onto the J3 port and hooks up to a laptop. You can change just about any of the parameters you want. You can datalog, tune on the fly, switch tunes on the fly, store about 8 different tunes. If you ever get to where you ti]hink your tune is pervect and you want to put the QH on another car, you can burn a Moates chip and stick it on the J3 and you're ff and running without the umbilical cord. It's kind of like the twEECer but immeasurably better and costs about half as much. Last time I looked, they were going for about $250 new.
