Default A Start

Well, so far a new intake, next: New MAF, pulleys, and throttle body, and possibly an alternator

although i did put this in myself, im not exceptionally knowledgeable on cars... so it tends to choke in low RPM's as if its not getting enough air, is a new MAF in order? or could it be something else ?

What do you mean by extending it? You want to run it down inside the fender?

yes exactly, only place i can think of is behind the radiator somewhat, my filter is already in the fender just infront of the wheel well/behind my deleted fog light

Honestly, I would invest my money elsewhere. I am not the guru on your body style, but the ram air systems were pretty useless on the fox bodies. I ran both 'the fender mounts' and 'the engine bay' intake style air filters and seen no difference in performance. There might have been a few, but it didn't show on the dyno.
If you are set on it, then I would buy one of these ram air kits and just modify it...

Well i analyzed it today and I realized I can fit another 6 inches of pipe in the engine bay, all i know is the longer the intake pipe is the more torque you'll get, but obviously not to the extreme...

My current intake is a solid 1' longer than my previous stock intake too

Very true.

The 4.6 also suffers from poor and erratic MAF signals when fender well CAI's are used. The 90 bend before the MAF causes distressed air to flow over the sensor wires. I used to have a fender well CAI in my 96 with the presumption that drawing the cooler air from outside the engine bay was better. Then a good tuner showed me the before and after MAF signals from my car while I was getting a dyno tune. I got rid of the 90 deg bend and got an adapter to put the filter directly on the other side of the MAF. There was no performance loss and the AF ratio was more easily tuned by my tuner. Nice steady line instead of the jagged lines from the MAF trying to read the turbulent air.

The only fender well CAI that I can think of that will work properly are the AFM type tubes that relocate the MAF inside the fender with the filter and the air filter then resides right behind the headlamp.

I think they were talking about a length of water pipe over the end of your wrench. That'll give you more torque.
