Here's a list of quality employers:

Burger King
Taco Bell

Albertsons
Checkers
Wendy's
Subway
Blimpies
ChicFillet (bonus -- Sunday's off)

there are many other similar establishments if you look around.

You must not need a job as bad as you say? Not like IBM's gonna hire a 17 year old as CEO...

What does your resume look like? Any previous employment dealing with customer service? If so, then there are other jobs out there not dealing with the food service industry.

Alltel
Progressive
Voicestream (T*Mobile)
Sears (no prev experience req)
Dillards (no prev experience req)
Most mall shops (no prev experience req)
Burdines (no prev experience req)

Basically, just make a resume. As young as you are, I would include volunteer work, extracurricular school activities, ect... to establish that you are a responsible person. Also when applying, ask for the store manager so that they can put a face to the resume. Usually, this will net you a preliminary interview on the spot (or in a day or two). This also makes it so you don't have to deal with the Human Resources department (and all of the delays involved with HR). Good luck!
