Default Went to Sunshine Speedway Tonight...

I wass kind of dissapointed seeing that a lot of 99+ GT's have broken very high 8's on other Mustang sites. Here are the numbers on my best run:

r/t.......789
60'......2.262
1/8......9.312
MPH.....76.03

Keep in mind that is in full street trim, with spare and full tank. I really wanted to get the 60' down to 2.0-2.1 but it never happened I got 2.2's on every launch. Any tips on getting it down? I really need some Drag Radials. Other than that I have a Mac Offroad H and 2 cahmber flows coming for the exhaust. Also a Triax. Maybe that will give me a boost into the 8's.

Toss the spare, jack, run with half tank of gas or less and most importantly practice practice practice!! Whats was the air pressure in your tires??

I beg to differ. I ran my '99 to a 8.9 with just exhaust then a 8.6 with a gear and a 2.1x short time.

Reading this made me feel a lot better, not much, but some. My lil ole 98GT with only u/ds, h-pipe,3.90s and traction(1. ran 8.8 @ 77mph. This was when the car had a HP rating of 205 and 278 tq with peak power at 2500 rpms thanks to a POS chip burn. There is hope for my car still. But you should be happy though. Those numbers where on street tires. I went from a 9.3 to an 8.8 with traction alone. So good luck!

Thanks for the tips guys, it looks like my car will just have to go on a diet next time I go to the track. I am planning on getting wheels with in the next few months so I will be sure to put nittos on 2 of them. I think that will help alot along with a ton of practice
