trying to get info on back pressure
Tommy,.. you know I probably wouldnt modify Kooks headers. Be reasonable and get your head out of your ass or what ever other hole you have it in these days. I'm trying to show him what avenues of exploration for HP he might like to try to get into. I dont like the back and forth BS you and I are doing in this post. Its really stupid. Its like you want to argue with me just for the sake of arguing. You know I ALWAYS write a lengthy post. I know that you dont like to read everything I type. I dont know what to tell you,.. but thats just how I am. You know this is how I have always done things. I type faster than most people talk. 250 - 300 words a minute. Sometimes I type ahead of my thinking and have to go back and ninja edit things because I'll be having a conversation with my wife while typing out a tech article and parts of my conversation with my wife will magically be in the post. LOL
Is it the fact that I write lengthy posts that irritates you,. or is it the subject matter on which I write about that bothers you? Or is it just me in general? Either way we need to get past this and move on.
I'm a reader. I read on average at least 2 - 3 hours of tech articles a day. I take tech articles on the web and save them to my hard drive where I have them organized and categorized so when someone posts here on TR, I can quickly look up their subject and post what I have learned. Some things I post are strictly from articles and usually when I post something that I dont have first hand physical experience on,.. I will say,.. "I dont know for sure" Or I will say "I'm not 100% sure on this", That way if someone else does know for sure,.. and what I posted was incorrect,.. its not taken as true factual tech. Its meant as a guideline only. But if I stand my ground its usually because I have first hand experience on the subject.
The main things that you dont see me jump on are the electrical and wiring subjects. And I'll be honest here,.. its because I simply dont know. I'm learning though. And I do appreciate the articles on EFI that you and Greg pointed out to me. They really came in handy and I learned quite a bit. The fact that my son's car is still EFI is testiment to that. Were it not for you and Greg there would be a carb on his motor right now.
For Wes's particular car,.. I agree with all of you. He has a stock long block. He can spend $100 or $1500 on an exhaust and the performance difference will be negligible at best.
But everyone starts somewhere. I just wanted to open his eyes to other possibilities so IF,.. and thats a big IF,.. he decides later in the future to actually build a motor,.. even if its only 306 for starters,.. once he understands the basics of his engine, he can design an exhaust system tuned to get the most out of his motor.
My theory on back pressure revolves around stock motors only. When it comes to race motors I just follow the proven recipes. There are so many articles on engine builds,.. you can pick a HP goal and there are at least a dozen articles with a dozen different budgets to make the same HP.
Can we all just get along now?

I was listening to a comedy channel on Satellite radio in my truck and a comedian made the joke that his bong turned into a lamp shade holder when his inlaws came over and I immediately thought of you. It was meant as more of a joke. And yes,.. because you have long hair. You just strike me as someone who burns on a regular basis. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I would if it wouldnt get me screwed up for job interviews. So I just dont. Not that I dont WANT to.
Whats wrong with the way I type? I think I type sexy,..
