I know im starting late in the game...lol alittle too late to be honest. But i gotta deal with it.

Can i please borrow someones timing light? (Honestly iv never timed any of my cars...i know...pretty sad ;()

Anyways..My car is running rich. I recently had some 3.73s installed but they have a bad whine to them..

Thats not really the problem..The car seems very sluggish when going the through the rpms. I dont really know where to start. I guess ill pull the plugs and stuff. But what should the timing be set at? Its at 10...but that was set by ear and a friend of mine shined the timing light and checked it.

Idles fine and all. Some times she backfires. Not anything bad. But it will pop once is a blue moon. One time when i got on it..It was poping like crazy when i was getting on it...started around 5k rshared_pm area.

Cody stated that I probably need a bigger fuel pump. It pretty much begs for more gas..Falls flat on her ass when getting never 5k rpms.

The car feels slow...Even with the 3.73s..It just does not perform like it should. Idk whats holding her back. Im starting with the above but i was wanting to see if any of the Vets could pitch in!

I really want to run my car to see what she can do. I know its not much but im having fun i guess lol

Give it what ever timing the car wants...read the plugs! Every car is different. I had a GT that didnt like more than 15 and then an LX that would take 18-19 degrees, there is no magic numger

How do you expect it to get the fuel it need's when your mod list is as such, but you're still running 19lb/hr injector's, a stock MAF, stock throttle body and a baby fuel pump. If it's begging for more fuel, and you have had more than one person tell you it's begging for more fuel, then what's next hoss? MORE FUEL.

Here's an ingenious idea.... Sell that crappy no air pulling intake setup
(no matter how cool that peice of shit look's it's obviously not doing the job) and buy you a nice Weiand X-Cellerator or RPM air gap and decent 650 double pumper, upgrade your fuel pump and I can gaurentee you, YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED.

I mean shit dude, I ran with a couple guy's that had your exact combo. One was a carb setup and the other EFI. 24lb/hr's big MAF and big throttle body. Both these guy's were in the high 12's! The carb car was a tenth faster though. You obviously have a decent longblock (shortblock and heads) but your not getting the fuel or air it need's to run at top dollar.

 

Hey Terry, I found you a carb setup for the same amount you can sell your EFI crap for... Then all you need is a fuel pressure regulator and a better fuel pump.

yeah, I might actually sell the intake. But i gotta find something i like first lol.
I do appreciate what ya said man! hahha The day i go carb is the day i have a turbo setup! Money is holding me back atm! lol. I gotta do the easy stuff first so i can actually save some money.
