Default Anyone Weld SHO cams?

I've got my hands on a 97 Taurus SHO. Pretty clean car but I'm worried about those cams. I've heard so many horror stories. Going to do a tune-up on her and I'll pull the valve covers to see if they have been done or not. It has 140,000 miles so they may have been done or one of the few that didn't break, just not sure if I want to take that chance

Just need to know if you guys know anyone that can or have had experience in welding them.

I'll post up some pics this weekend of her. Thing rides out pretty good and sounds ridiculous for a Taurus .

chances are they were done if it has 140k on it. I rememeber reading they started to fuck up around at 70k. I dont think you need to do anything special, just a few quick tack welds should do it

Yeah gonna pull it apart this weekend and check them out. Friend of mine welds at a chassis shop for race cars and he's gonna tack them for me if they haven't been done. Needs a bath, brakes all around a tune-up and another bath

We welded the cams yesterday and fixed the exhaust leak. My friend Jesse did an awesome job! I will post pics up soon.
