4 cylinders will only be so fast, well V8's will only be so fast also, but the difference in limitations is huge!!! maybe I'll slap on a 150 shot and get into the low 11's or high 10's with all the other mods im ordering! hell maybe I will also whip out some more money and put on a 3200 or 3400 stall converter, or hell maybe i will put in the new Comp camshaft! then I will be running low 10's see, my options are unlimited!!! just because others added mods, and it didnt work out for them, doesnt mean that it wont for me, maybe there cars were much slower stock than mine, some are just faster than others.
Come on now. Just add one second to all the times you quoted for thier respective mods and youll just about have it right. Runing anything below an 11.5 or so is tough going. Takes a comprehensive approach....alot more than youll ever guess.
For you to get a 10.9 it will take:
1) Headers $500-1200
2) good or custom exhaust $300
3) better stall converter $900
4) Intake lid $99
at this point you should be around 12.2s at 112 mph
5) Cam + install $800 ($500 if you do it)
6) Stage II heads $2400 for heads $700 for install
7) custom program $350
at this point you should be running 11.5-11.8 with weight reduction
walbro intank fuel pump $139 + install9) nitrous kit with accersories $850 + install
10) slicks and wheels $500
11) 12 bolt rear $2200 plus install
12) appox $500 in safety equip
at this point you will hit tens if the combo is correct. Soon after, maybe 10 passes your tranny WILL give out and youll need a stronger unit $2500
Oh yeah....I didnt even touch suspension yet.
And these estimates are if everything is working out correctly. You are bound to stumble at some point. Running low ETs is not as simple as it sounds. Especially when your around 11.2s ans such.....each tenth get harder and harder
