Default Question for the Capri owners

Looking at a Capri, but the hatch has some serious cancer. Is the swapping of a Mustang hatch a direct swap?

In fact, the first Fox Capris (79-82 I think) didn't have the bubble hatch. They used a mustang hatch.

I still want to build a capri with an early Fox hatch and 3 piece wing, but with the Capri nose and hood. I think they look awesome.

I bought a Capri many years ago for a project, but it was way too rusty for me at the time (no garage, no welder, no fab skills). It was a T-top car though, so it would've been a great street machine.

I never had a problem with my mustang that I could attribute to EFI. I thought I would have EFI issues, but it turned out to be a burned plug wire that would cause some weird driveability issues.

My EFI mustang never left me stranded, except for a bad battery and it was late at work so I had nobody to help push start it. It had 140k miles on it and still ran 13's with a heavy stereo in the back and the A/C blowing cold. Fox cars are probably the best daily driver fun car on the roads.

Just throwin this out there, unless you change the lights it looks odd with a normal hatch...just sayin. How bad is the rust, some fiberglass bondo works wonders
I know where there MAY still be a bubble hatch. Harold Harper picked up this stripped down roller I had at my house, he may be able to tell you what junkyard it went to. I know it is in riverview, just can't remember how to get there. It may still be there.

the rust on the hatch was the least of the problems when i went to look at the car. the cancer was eating her alive.
