Why is my 4.6 doing this?
Ok, I've always had a miss in my 92 limo. It's always been there, and I just figured it was because of a dead hole or something....But....Today, I decided to check the firing order on the coil packs. The one on the drivers side was wrong. So I changed it to the way it's SUPPOSED to be according to the coil pack. Well, that cause it to be WAY worse. When I did that, it made it start to pop through the intake, as well as run EXTREEMELY rough. So, I've put it back to the way it was before. Looking at the car from the front, with the drivers seat on my right, and starting at the terminal that is SUPPOSED to hooked up to 7, is ACTUALLY wired to #4. The one that is SUPPOSED to be hooked up to 2 is actually wired to #7. The one that is SUPPOSED to be hooked up to 4 is actually hooked up to #8. And the one that is SUPPOSED to be hooked up to hooked up to 8 is actually hooked up to #2.
The other side is wired fine and properly. Wired this way, it runs "ok", but has a miss. Any deviation from this wiring, causes it to run horribly. Any ideas?

The coil pack. Which jives with everything I've found on the net so far.
edit* Wait...Which firring order? The one that works? Or the one that's SUPPOSED to work?
The one that works, is the way I got it.

They develop misses sometimes because the resistor/radio noise suppressor goes bad on them. Does your stereo get noise from the engine?
My 96 had this problem. I just replaced the coil packs.
Junk yards are littered with them if you cant afford new.

I dont know what Brian is talking about. Motorcraft modules are the best. They last a long time. MSD, Screamin Demon and Accel are the only others I know of. The motorcraft ones are $65 each,.. the generic BWD modules are $50 each. Unless he has a good wholesale hook up,.. let a brotha in.
