Default mustang power windows

I decided to start looking into the power window issues on this sn95 mustang.
On the passenger side the window will go up or down with some help. It seems to bind up on its own.

Is there a how-to on some website with pictures that explains what to test and fix in case of power window failure. I've been doing searches and I find alot of people have problems and there is a discussion about the motor, relays, etc. I removed the door panel and I know were the pw motor is at, but I'm not sure what i need to do to test or repair it.

Thanks for any help.

spray some of that window track lube on it and see if that helps. it might just be really dirty and dried out

take the motor out, take the cover plate off, see if the plastic balls are gone..... Sounds like to me thats what it is. You can replace said balls for 10$ at local auto parts place. If you cant find the replacment balls. Go get 3 10mm nuts, and use those instead. As long as you hear the motor humming, theres no need to replace it.

usually when those little balls go , nothing happens but the motor spinning. Most likely , because it does go up with help , it will be the regulator

I would have to respectfully disagree. The balls dont just "go out" they begin to crumble, and thats why the motor needs help....it probably goes up about half way and then starts "jumping" and when he pulls it it grabs again.

I would be much happier if I took it appart, and find out its the balls. Rather than assume its the regulator, spend 100$ and have the same problem...

I'm also going by what someone says. If I had it in front of me I would know exactly what was wrong. In my experience , it is usually the regulator . And I know the little balls dont go , they crumble and then there is nothing to actuate the window. When they they go , you generally will not get the window up with any help from the motor. You can just pull the window up . And you will only use 10 mm nuts to fix the nylon ball until your kid gets his or her finger stuck and broken between the window and the jamb

make sure the bottom track itself has not seperated from the window. It is only held on with clear silicone from the factory.
