Default help fuel problems help

ok so here we go i have an 87 mustang 5.0 with efi . it starts up fine idles good once i drive for a bit it chokes out like it has no gas. i go to the schrader valve and check to see if there is fuel pressure and there is BUT its way too much the gas is almost boiling hot and there is alot of air in the line. i bleed all the pressure out of the fuel line and it fires right up few minutes later it will die and i bleed out the pressure and it fires right back up. any thought or ideas are appriciated

sounds like your return line is restricted.

This could be the culprit as well, but I would think it would be on the return side of the regulator.

O.P.
If you see no visual kinks in the return line (especially look at the rubber section) Put a gauge on it and that should tell the story before you buy any parts

I agree with GNS... Your return line is being cutoff by something.

I would put my money on it being a vacum issue. When there is a drop in vacum the regulator closes the return line which gives you a boost in fuel. So it could be since there is low vacum the regulator is cutting off the return line so the fuel builds up in your fuel rails which is causing it to cook and get boiling hot and thats why when you check your schrader valve you have gallons of hot fuel coming out.

I would check out the vacum first if that just happens to be good then check out your regulator the spring in it probally got stuck and thats whats cutting of your return line and causing all your problems.

Hoped this helped! Let me know what happens!!
