Hello Everyone !
Yes this is a long post but please read it all, you may want to print this out.
God willing and hopefully this rain goes bye bye, we are locked and loaded for this Sunday (23rd). There is a link at the bottom of this page to show everyone that has paid, if you are not on the list e-mail me immediatley (nosgears@yahoo.com).
This originally started out as my way of getting the Ford forum people together so I thought of having a Tampa Racing Ford forum only track day. But because we want to gain more memebers to our rapidly growing Ford forum and make some new Ford friends I contacted Chris and opened it up to some of the Modern Mustangs of Tampa Bay Club members. I gave the duties of choosing who to invite from MMTT to Chris (hospowr) because he runs the club. I did not want this first track day to be to big so that is why I did not open it up to the entire MMTT club. So hopefully no one feels left out or upset. We WILL do this again but on a bigger scale.
So if you are a MMTT member reading this and not a member of TR, welcome to our forum. It is really turning into a great forum and we hope you join TR and at least check it out to see what a great group of people we have in here and mininal B.S. !
Tampa Racing had a reputation of being a import only site and for the most part when I joined it was. But now the Ford forum is one of the busiest forums on the site. Heck even the owner of the site (Aharon) has a 2003 Cobra on order.
Now for the track day information:
We are locked and loaded for Sunday June 23rd starting at 9:00a.m. and going to 2:00p.m.. (weather permitting)
The far east gate will open at 8:15 a.m..
When you arrive go to the front of the stagging lanes first and sign the waiver the track requires and then they will check you in and give you a number to put on your car. If you do not have white shoe polish to write the number on your window, they will have some and so will other people. If you made arrangements with me to pay at the track find me first before signing in.
We can BBQ while we are there. The snack bar will not be open and NO ALCHOHOL WHAT-SO-EVER ! I will be bringing a lot of drinks but feel free to bring some just in case. You can always take your leftovers back home.
We will have access to the second floor of the timming tower so you can get out of the heat if you want. We will also have a EMT because it is required by the track.
Radials WILL BE ALLOWED in the left lane. The right lane will be for slicks the majority of the time unless two radial cars want to race each other. But you can run slicks in both lanes.
Here are a few track rules for some of the newer people:
If you WANT or NEED to do a burnout do it in or just past the water box, not anywhere near the stagging area (close to the tree). Make sure to drive between the water boxes and then back the rear tires into the water. This will keep from getting excess water on the track and keep the traction at a premium. If you DO NOT WANT or NEED to do a burnout pull through the middle of the water boxes to keep from getting water on the track and proceed to the stagging area (tree). Once again no dry burnouts near the tree.
Timeslips will be given back at the starting line, not at the turnoff road. This is different than usual I know but that is one less hand they will need at the regular timeslip spot and in turn that helps keep the cost down. You will be given a number and that number will be on your timeslip so you can get it from the starter when you go back up or you can have a friend pick it up. The times WILL be displayed on the tower. If you need to run N/T (no time on the scoreboard) e-mail me and I will disucss it with the track. This is supposed to be a easy going fun event so there is no real reason for anyone to run N/T.
It should be a great time and it will be a learning experience for me so if you do not like how something is going, TELL ME this way I can adjust for the next event we have. This will be a good time for you people that have never been to the track because you can learn from some of us ask questions and not look like a fool in front of a full house of people like you would have on a regular test and tune day.
If it is raining that morning (God Please No) CALL THE TRACK FIRST BEFORE LEAVING. The number is (941) 748-1320 or my cell if the track does not answer (813) 784-5968. We will have a make up date if it rains out and that date should be the following weekend (30th). I try to plan ahead.
But hopefully that will not happen.
Park wherever you like but the track would prefer we stay up near the east edge of the stagging area (paved area) but please do not block the inner lanes. Plus if we all stay in the same area we can talk to each other much easier. If you are bringing a car hauler stay in behind the restroom area but up near the stands if possible.
E-mail me with any questions or comments (nosgears@yahoo.com)

And here is a link to the paid list: https://www.tamparacing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=239742#239742
Come find me and introduce yourself. I drive a 1990 Maroon LX Hatch with Weld wheels and now a white cowl hood because I just put it on last week. I will probably be running around like a madman making sure everyone is having a good time, hopefully I get to make some runs.
If you HAVE NOT PAID and made arrangements with me please see me as soon as you get to the track so I can collect your money and check you off.
There will be ONE import at the event. My brother (Mark) who is tunning his new motor combo in his Honda Accord. He is a good kid and has been going to the track with me since he was 8 years old, so feel free to talk to him.
I think I have covered everything but if not e-mail me with any questions or comments (nosgears@yahoo.com)
I am really looking forward to this and hopefully all of you are too.
