Default header bolt question.

ok so every time i look at my headers there will be bolts missing. so ill replace them and tighten all the others to make sure there not loose. but a week later more will be missing. i have put the longer bolt in it too, but it still does the same thing. i have equal length flowtechs. will locking header bolts fit? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you make sure the header flanges are nice and flat? Are you using header gaskets?

With my junk I take the headers to the machine shop and have the flange surface put down on their table-type sander to get them flat. I then use the red copper RTV instead of a traditional header gasket.
If the header to head surface has any warp to them, the chance of a leak and loose header bolts multiply.

just put some ultra copper gasket sealer on the bolts before you install them.I have been doing that for 20 years it works great and when you take the bolts out they come out.no need for locking bolt kits that are expensive and a pain in the ass when you loose 1 .
