noob mustang questions! --
hey all im in the process of gettin a new car, and i am strongly considering a 94+ mustang, but i havent totally decided on which year or model to get as of yet. I know some basics but im also not quite up to speed on which mods to do first and what works best.
Any help you could provide in helping me choose a direction would help greatly. -- here are the decisions:
-94-95 5.0 GT 5-spd vs. 96-98 4.6 GT 5-spd. i doubt i could afford a Cobra but if i found a cheap 94-95 i would consider it. Which model year will give me the easiest power for the least money, reliably? (if there is such a "wonder" combination lol
)
-Mod route: Looking for comfortable mid-13's as a starting point with bolt-ons. NA vs. SC?
Like i said i know these are alot of newbie questions but im tryin to get as much info as possible so i can make an informed choice. Thanks!!

I'd go with the 94-95 GT since it has the pushrod motor. They are more friendly to bolt-ons than the shit 4.6 from 96-98...plus there is much more of an aftermarket out there as well.
Try to find a 89-93 LX notch if you like the older Mustangs. You can generally find a nice 5.0 LX notch cheap in the AutoTrader. The fox-body has a HUGE aftermarket and is probably the easiest Mustang to tinker with. The notch back is also the lightest.

If you ask me either way those yrs are some of the worst for the mustang. The 94-95 have the 5.0 but they are in the heavy body, and the 96-98 have the 4.6 which produces more power but has the shitty heads on them. If I had to go with one I would go with the 5.0 being parts are mad cheep, compaired to the 4.6.

i have a 88 coupe and a 98 GT and i like them both for different reasons. the 98 GT is a more refined car than the 88 but, the 302 is much more friendlier to work on than the mod motor. the 94-present cars are nicer than any 79-93 mustang ever thought of being. with their mach 460 radios and better ride quality and much better nvh. if you dont care about all this noise,vibration and harshness crap then get yourself a 79-93 COUPE. And if you want that and a 302 get a 94-95. its really up to you in the end, you have to pay for it. Stangerang is right, bolt on some spray and they all run mid 13's. aaahhh 302.
Either go with a 94-95 5.0, 96-98 Cobra, or a 99+ GT. Just try and stay away from the 96-98 GT's unless you have money for a headswap, without it lets just say they aren't the fastest things out there...
Yeah, but the 5.0 is serious. Right Dustin?
