4:10 or 3:73 fox body ?
Im trying to figure out wether to run 3:73 or 4:10 gears in my fox body.
Its just my fun car, its gonna be 90% track car and driven too and from work everyonce in a while, And to bradenton everyonce in awhile.
my main concern with 4:10s is taking it on the highway to bradenton, if my math is right i would be cruising at 3500rshared_pm at 65mph.
But I know at sunshine which is were the car will be ran more is sunshine so 4:10 would be best there.
Its a 89 foxbody 75` non roller 302, carb`d, C4 auto.
last dyno`d at 185WHP, once on nitrous it should do 275-300WHP.
With a 27x10.5 ET street cheater slick
c4 has
1st = 2.46
2nd = 1.46
3rd = 1.00

are you sure itd be THAT bad? im sure its different with the auto and all but i have 456s with a 26 tall tire on my car and i can go faster then 65 while being below 3500rpm
id personally go with whatever your car is going to perform the best with for 1/4mile, thats what i did and i dont regret it one bit
however the next set of tires i buy with be 28 tall so when im driving around town it'll be similar gearing as to when i had 410s
