Here is my combo on my street car. ported gt40p intake,gt40p heads,1.6 Roller tip rockers, stock explorer cam, long tubes, explorer 65mm tb and 150 shot.on the motor the car is a beast.on the the spray it gets much worse.i"m guessing around 280-310 to the wheels on the motor. You need to figure out what cam you have right know.also do a compression test to c how good you short block is.bump up the compression, and mybe alittle more port work would gain you a few hp.

You should swap in a Japanese domestic B16a. NA can really go fast V.T.E.C. Then put in cams, exhaust, intake and you're set~ ^_^

What I find odd is that the mod motors are drug through the dirt when it comes to making power N/A compared to equal ci pushrod. But you guys say 280rwhp is not bad. I don't get it.

Well these motors come stock with a little over 200 and mine and ur cobra come stock with i believe 305!! So gaining 100hp N/A with few bolt ons isn't bad but not good!! haha I do miss running to 8k rpm's in my cobra.

mod motors aren"t bad, just not my cup of tea.you can"t compare 1960 design windsor motors to newer mod motors.once you get all they factory none roller shit out the way and some decent heads they would have made alot more power from the factory.if you compare 1988 crown vic motor to and 88 mustang 5.0 they are the same thing.just a little bit better cam and headers.not you,but the import crow thinks that 5.0 are slow, but look at what they really where a crown vic with a better cam.if i was a ford peep back in the day fox mustangs would have cam with a 340h.p base motr and 351w 400hp as the option engine.

I understand the frustration you are having with your hp dyno numbers man I m right there with you in the same situation, I am running a TFS track heat intake, TFS twisted wedge aluminum heads, 1.6 rockers, TFS stage 1 cam, 30 lb injectors, vortec 76 mm mass air with 30 lb injector inlet tube, Paxton fuel rail regulator, underdrive pulleys, CAI, 70 mm BBK throttle body, not to mention the shit load of money in the rest of the car, The only stock part of my car left is the short block, and I am only putting down 290 rwhp and 305 rwtq, its agrivating.

I have been throwing the idea around of putting a 351w in with the same heads and cam with a victor jr intake and holley 750, but I dunno if I would make that much more hp with it or not. I also have a NOS kit for a carbed setup that I will throw in it if I do the 351w, but I like N/A power more than anything so I dunno what the hell to do. I understand your pain man and goodluck with it.

Ok, from top to bottom:

Holley 750 vac secondary or 650 DP

Performer RPM intake port matched with heads

AFR 185 heads port matched with intake

Performer RPM cam

Stock Short Block

headers to 2 1/2" exhaust

flowmasters with dumps

125 shot of the bottle

All this added together = about 425 hp or so. ROUGHLY....Possibly more depending on how solid and tight your short block is. And all while keeping it below 6500 RPM which will keep it living a long time.
