A buddy of mine was talking about utting a LS1 in my fox!! But I kinda wanna keep the 302 an maybe get pistons, change my cam(not sure what is a good one),and whatever else to get the most noticeable power. Even thought of just pulling my motor out to see all I have/don't or need to up grade. I just don't know.haha

You seem focused on horsepower. Why? High horsepower does not always equal a fast car. Not sure if it is still the case, but back in the day I remember 800hp Supras that couldn't make it into the 11's. Dyno queens. 280 RWHP in a coupe with a properly set up suspension and gearing and some attention paid to weight should be a quick street car. Throw the 100 of 150 shot on it and you get a car that requires care to drive to it's full potential (and some good tires).

The lesson I have learned (and it cost me tons of money) is that high horsepower cars are difficult to make reliable on a budget. An unreliable high horsepower car that constantly breaks down gets old quick.

I don't know how you drive it. If you use the car a lot, the majority of your driving is under 50 mph. Plus, you would spend as much time turning as going straight. At a minimum, 3.73 gears will wake up the car. I'm sure there are others here that are more knowlegable about suspensions. There are suspension kits that shave significant weight from the car.

The trick is to figure out what you want, talk to people that have gotten their car to where you want yours to be and then copy their buildup. Having a map to follow saves a lot of money.

Again, I'm speaking from my experiences. I had a 94 GT. I bought parts for it on a whim with no plan. I bought a used turbocharger kit and put an e cam it it. I never had a plan for tuning it. I spent a ton of money making the interior look new. I never paid attention to the exterior. I wanted a date car for my wife and myself. I took the AC out of it. The engine bay looked like an abortion. I bought a G Force tranny but didn't get a good clutch. I started building a mega squirt computer and then got a tweecer. Like I say, there was no plan. Just buying crap - expensive crap. There was nothing wrong with the individual components, just a lack of planning.
