I need a set of locks (doors, trunk) for my 90 coupe. For some reason, the keys I got with the car do not work on the drivers door.

 

prob power door lock thingy frozen so you cant turn key......if you remove it the key should work if thats the prob very common.you can still get lock sets at the parts store but you will have a different key for trunk and door

 

when you open the door look down under the latch near bottom of door there should be a rivet drill it out then key should turn...if thats the prob .good luck

 

I got the acctuators replaced. The power locks work now. During the process, I realized the drivers door is not original. I'm guessing that when the door was replaced, the lock was not switched. The acctuator on that door probably hasn't worked since the door was replaced, so the original owner never locked the door and therefore didn't think about the key. The key I have works the trunk and passenger door. The drivers door needs a different key that was not given to me.

No, sold it a couple months ago. I never could get anywhere with it and was just way more than I needed. Lasted about three weeks before the Mustang bug got me. Found what I really wanted, a Fox coupe. It's a real straight car, rust free with a GT40P motor in it. Something I can drive and enjoy. I'm over trying to build a 500hp super car.

 

Damn, I could so relate to that statement on so many levels. I am in the same boat.

 

why do you need locks on your car

 

Still looking. Anyone got a contact with a dealer parts department? I was hoping to avoid dealing with a parts counter droid.

Everything you could possibly need for you fox. you probably are not going to find anything at a local parts counter as many of the ofx parts are pretty much obsolete. Got to go to a specialty parts house.
