Just don't run a high pressure pump. I twisted a good shaft and wiped out a dist gear in a very short time.

Thats what i did.meiling standard in my 302 and meiling high volume in 351w.302 pump shaft is small compared to 351w.if really don"t need the more flow stick with the standard,it robs alittle power.make sure to use arp oil pumpshaft.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I already put it in when I rebuilt the motor.Got a new one in a trade for some stuff.I guess I'll change it when I put the tubular front end in.Until then,on a high miledge motor is it normal for the oil pressure to drop below 30pounds hot?It stays at 40 then slowly drops off to 28-30 while sitting in traffic.I have about 50-55 crusing, and about 60-70 in the throttle.
