brake trouble
my right rear brake on my 2000 gt is giving me trouble. we thought we fixed the issue by replacing the pads and rotors but i guess not. what its looking like is the piston in the caliper closed but never really opened opened back up all the way. before the repair the pad pushed so hard against the rotor that it carved into it, which sucked. now it seems like its doing the same thing again with my brand new pads and rotors! any insight guys?
you could rebuild the caliper but it would be cheaper and easier to just replace the caliper.

Since this is the rear caliper I would bet that the piston has to be screwed back in rather than pushed. Once you install new pads you need to test fit them on the rotor. If there is any play at all between the pads and the rotor you may need to screw the piston back out a little bit to take up the slack.

either way if the piston doesnt go in with the bleeder open you have a bad caliper and you dont have to screw the piston out if there is slack , you adjust it by pulling the e brake , thats my .02 , but i make a lot more doing brakes
